SolarInfoPath gives homeowners and businesses honest, independent information about solar energy. We are a research and publishing site. We are not a solar installer, a lead generation company, or a sales platform.

Our Mission

We do not sell panels. We do not install systems. We do not sell your contact information to solar companies. Our goal is to research, verify, and publish clear answers to the real questions people have before, during, and after going solar.

What We Publish

SolarInfoPath covers four core areas:

What solar systems, batteries, and installations actually cost, based on current market data rather than marketing estimates.

Tax credits and policy

Federal and state incentive rules, including IRS compliance, ITC recapture rules, and MACRS depreciation.

Consumer protection

Warranty terms, contract disputes, and legal issues that affect solar buyers, including cases most solar sites do not cover.

Our Editorial Process

Every article on SolarInfoPath goes through the same process. We research using primary sources first, including IRS notices, FERC and CPUC rulings, court filings, utility interconnection records, and manufacturer specifications. We do not rewrite press releases or republish manufacturer marketing copy as independent analysis.

When we cite a figure, a law, or a ruling, we link to or name the original source. When prices, tax rules, or regulations change, we update the article and note the revision date.

Who Writes Our Content

SolarInfoPath is written and researched by Morgan Lee, Lead Analyst and Founder.

Morgan has over 12 years of experience in U.S. renewable energy law, IRS tax credit compliance, and solar litigation.

His background covers solar contract disputes, injury and workers compensation claims, PACE financing issues, tax equity structures, ITC recapture rules, and MACRS depreciation.

His work also covers regulatory developments such as the IRA and OBBBA, interconnection reform, domestic content rules, battery storage incentives, EPC contracts, PPAs, and utility scale solar investment structures.

How We Make Money
